GameBuddy — Terms of Service and End User Licence Agreement

these terms. It matches TermsPolicy.CURRENT_VERSION in the application.
1. Who may use GameBuddy
GameBuddy is for adults. You must be 18 years of age or older to create or hold an account. There is no younger tier, no parental-consent route, and no supervised mode.
When you register you give your date of birth. We calculate your age from it and refuse the account if it puts you under 18. If we later learn that an account holder is under 18, we close the account and delete the data associated with it.
2. No tolerance for objectionable content or abusive users
There is no tolerance for objectionable content or abusive users on GameBuddy.
You agree not to submit, post, send or upload content that is:
- sexually explicit, or sexualises any person under 18 in any way;
- hateful, or that attacks or demeans a person or group on the basis of race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, disability, age, sex, gender identity or sexual orientation;
- threatening, harassing, or that encourages self-harm or violence against anyone;
- deceptive — impersonating another person, or misrepresenting who you are;
- unlawful, or that infringes anybody else’s rights;
- spam, advertising, or an attempt to move people to a service where none of these rules apply in order to do something that would break them here.
You also agree not to use GameBuddy to solicit money, personal financial information, or sexual content from other account holders.
Consequences. Content that breaks these rules is removed. Accounts that submit it are suspended or terminated. We do not require a pattern of behaviour before acting: a single serious violation is enough, and for anything involving the sexualisation of children we terminate immediately and report to the appropriate authorities.
3. Reporting, and what we commit to
Every profile, post, comment and chat message has a report control. Every account can be blocked, from the profile screen and from within a conversation. Blocking is immediate and mutual — a blocked account can no longer see you, be matched with you, or continue an open conversation with you.
We commit to reviewing every report and acting on it within 24 hours of receiving it. Acting means removing the content, suspending the account, terminating the account, or recording that the report was not founded. You can also reach us directly at the address in section 12.
4. Automated screening
Some screening happens before content is published, and it is not perfect:
- Profile pictures are checked by an automated classifier before they appear to anyone. Images the classifier is confident are sexual are refused. Images it is unsure about are held, unpublished, for review.
- Text you submit is filtered. Some words are masked; slurs and sexual abuse are refused outright. On public surfaces — posts, comments, community names — email addresses, links and phone numbers are removed.
Automated screening supplements human review. It does not replace it, and it is not a guarantee that everything you see has been checked.
5. Your content
You keep ownership of what you create. You grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, store, reproduce and display it for the purpose of operating GameBuddy — and for no other purpose. That licence ends when you delete the content or your account, except for copies we must keep to comply with law or to enforce these terms.
You are responsible for what you submit, and you confirm you have the right to submit it.
6. Your account
Keep your password to yourself. Tell us if you believe somebody else has used your account. One person, one account. Do not create an account to evade a suspension.
7. Deleting your account
You can delete your account from inside the app: Settings → Delete account. It requires your password, and it is not reversible.
When you delete, your profile, photograph, matches and personal details are removed. Your messages in other people’s conversations are anonymised rather than erased, because they are part of a record that belongs to more than one person — the other participant keeps their side of a conversation they took part in.
8. Purchases
GameBuddy is free to use. Some features — additional daily likes, cosmetic items — can be bought. Purchases are processed by Apple or Google, not by us, and their refund policies apply. Coins and cosmetic items have no cash value and cannot be exchanged for money.
9. What we do not promise
GameBuddy is provided as it is. We do not promise it will be available without interruption, that it will match you with anybody, or that other account holders are who they say they are. Use ordinary judgement when meeting people from the internet. Tell somebody where you are going, meet in public first, and do not send money to somebody you have met here.
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of GameBuddy or from your dealings with other account holders.
10. Ending it
You can stop using GameBuddy at any time by deleting your account. We can suspend or terminate an account that breaks these terms, and will say why unless doing so would interfere with an investigation.
11. Changes
We will update these terms when the service changes. Material changes are announced in the app, and the version recorded against your account tells us which version you agreed to.

These terms are governed by Finnish law. Nothing here removes rights you have as a consumer under the mandatory law of the country you live in.
